Low Guat Tin Challenge

For girls who have signed up for Low Guat Tin Challenge,

Please remember to meet at NYPS mtg point at 730am. =) Here's more info:


                                              Attire (Girls):
a.       GB-related T-shirts
b.      Name Tag
c.       School shorts/ Bermudas
d.      Running shoes/ School shoes

                        Attire (Family members):
a.       T-shirts (no vulgar/ inappropriate designs)
b.      Bermudas/ Long Pants/ Jeans (min knee length)
c.       Running shoes
  
                        Bags:
a.       Participants are advised to carry a small bag for personal belongings.
b.      There will be NO storage space for the things that participants bring.
c.       Please bring some snacks and a water bottle as lunch is not provided

2014 Fast Food and Fuzz Camp

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Fast Food and Fuzz Camp

Thank you for sending your daughter/ward to attend the Fast Food and Fuzz camp organized by The Girls’ Brigade Singapore from 9 am on 5 July 2014 (Sat) to 2.30 pm on 6 July 2014 (Sun) at the GB Center at No.795 Upper Serangoon Road.

Please ensure that your daughter/ward has her breakfast before reporting at 8.30 am on Saturday in school in GB/PE t-shirt and skirt (or track pants). The school bus will bring the girls back to school at 3 pm on Sunday.

This is a National Camp and girls from other schools are involved. I will be staying in the camp. If you have to contact your girl for urgent matters, you may call me on my mobile phone at 98399016.

This camp is to help girls learn how not to take things for granted and to appreciate what they have.  They will learn the meaning and purpose of prayer and living simply. They will be praying for third world needs and fast from the usual comforts and indulgences they use to enjoy.
·       Food will be sufficient but simple.
·       Sleeping area will be shelters made out of cardboard boxes within a covered area.  

Things to bring:
1.     bible (if have)
2.     water bottle
3.     1.5L platstic water bottle
4.     stationery (pen, pencil, scissors, glue, colour pencils, crayons, coloured papers, marker pens)
5.     toiletries: towel, soap/bath gel, toothbrush and toothpaste
6.     one set of clothes (t-shirt, shorts, underwear)
7.     insect repellent if needed
8.     thin bed sheet and blanket
9.     wide bowl to eat porridge, fork and spoon, cup with handles (No disposables are allowed)
10.  slipper/sandals for bathing (optional)
11.  Jacket/track pants (optional)
12.  recyclable materials for craft and medium or large sized WHITE paper plate  (For craftwork)
13.  Thermometer
14.  Personal medication

Things not to bring:
  1. Jewelry
  2. Tidbits, food
  3. Sleeping bag 
Please note that all mobile phones will be kept by the officers throughout the camp.

You might also want to bring a small amount of Rupiah**. For pupils who are not Singapore citizens, please also bring the exact amount of 25USD for your visa application when we reach Batam.

**Parents have asked about bringing SGD instead. As most places do accept SGD, please feel free to bring SGD in small notes instead of rupiah. =)
